+ STRENGTHS :
- Master of deceit and manipulation: It is almost impossible to tell whether Loki is lying, and almost as difficult to successfully lie to him. He is an expert at manipulating others in order to get what he wants. This comes to him almost as easily as breathing.
- Jotunn physiology: Superhuman speed, strength, and stamina, as well as immunity to extreme cold.
- Near genius level intellect
- Proficient tactician: Partly natural cunning and partly the teachings of the Aesir.
- Accelerated healing factor: Partially helped along by his magic. Allows him to recover from most minor injuries within minutes, and major injuries in hours or days depending on the severity.
- Master of magical arts and lore: Magical abilities include but are not limited to: shapeshifting, illusion, telekinesis, teleportation (of people and objects), ice manipulation, fire manipulation (explained below), minor healing magic, warding, scrying, and general manipulation of energy/force.
- Shape-shifting
- Skilled combatant: Loki has been trained by the best the Aesir can offer for many centuries. His tactics rely on speed rather than strength. His preferred weapons are daggers, throwing knives, and staffs/spears.
- Allspeak: Allows Loki to understand and be understood by almost everyone. He is able to speak a variety of languages without the help of the Allspeak, but English is not one of them.
- Adaptability and cunning

- WEAKNESSES :
- Heat intolerance: Frost giant physiology makes Loki particularly sensitive to heat and burns.
- Emotional: Despite trying hard not to be, Loki is an extremely emotional and passionate person. He gives in to emotions (particularly negative ones) very easily and holds grudges for a long time.
- PTSD
- Pride
- Flattery
- Recklessness and impulsivity: This drives him to do inadvisable things that he'll later regret (for example, everything he's ever done from the start of Thor (2011) onwards).
- Selfishness: This has always been a trait of Loki's but has only truly developed into a major flaw recently through what Loki calls necessity, and what the rest of us would call pushing everyone away, extreme paranoia, and generally being a bit of an ass.

This is the default verse I’ll usually use unless my writing partner has a post-endgame main verse.

Loki is still the same Loki. He’s trying to mend his relationship with Thor and is aligned with Asgard for the time being, having finally accepted that they are his people and he does care maybe just a little about them, but he’s still very much his own agent. He’s still as morally dubious as ever (if a tad less malicious), and still the god of mischief.▍   FOR ALL OF US (Post Season 2)

Hiding behind some rubble and using a well cast illusion, Loki survived Thanos’ attack on the ship carrying himself, Thor, and the Aesir. He is fuelled by a thirst for revenge, both for himself and for the Asgardian people he let himself care about again.▍   A FROST GIANT ON THE THRONE OF ASGARD (Post The Dark World)
Set immediately after the events of TDW, in which Loki has taken the throne of Asgard whilst disguised as Odin. Now that he has the throne, he’s unwilling to give it up, and wants to prove he could have ruled despite Odin choosing Thor over him.▍   DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES (Post The Dark World AU)
Also set immediately after the events of TDW, however, Loki decided not to take the throne from Odin and take the freedom that being ‘dead’ offers him.

▍    PUNY GOD (Avengers Verse)
Loki after he fell from the Bifrost but before his encounter with the Dark Elves. He’s fuelled by rage, blood lust, and self loathing, not to mention trauma from a fall through the void and encountering Thanos. This is Loki at his worst. Approach with caution.▍    I REMEMBER A SHADOW (Pre-Thor)
A more innocent Loki, just before the events of Thor. Perhaps a little jealous and bitter, but yet to be twisted by the void or the truth of what he truly is.▍    OH I JUST CAN'T WAIT TO BE KING (Child Verse)

▍   AND YOUR ENEMIES CLOSER (SHIELD Consultant AU)
In which Loki is employed by SHIELD as a consultant, called upon whenever they come across anything magical. As part of the agreement he’s made with SHIELD, he is of course kept under heavy supervision and what he is allowed to see is heavily controlled. He spends most of his time going through the items in SHIELD’s vaults and rewriting their records- most of them are painfully incorrect. Loki’s motivations in doing this are mostly rooted in boredom, but he also likes having access to SHIELD’s information without having to go to too much effort.▍   KNOW YOUR ENEMY (SHIELD Infiltration AU)
In which Loki has decided that the only way to reliably access the information and resources SHIELD have is to infiltrate their organisation. As a shape-shifter, creating an alias was easy, but forging the appropriate paperwork and history took a lot more work. How long he’ll manage to keep the pretence up before he gets bored or frustrated is anyone’s guess, but for the moment he’s working his way up the ranks, both for his own amusement, and to see what he can trick SHIELD into giving him access to (an Infinity Stone, perhaps).

▍   LOKI OF JOTUNHEIM (Jotunheim AU)
In which Loki wasn’t left out in the cold to die as a baby, but was raised as a prince of Jotunheim. Whether he is better off is questionable- he’s very much still an outsider thanks to his stature being small for a giant. But his talent for magic earns him respect and will one day lead him to usurp Laufey and take the throne of Jotunheim for himself.

▍   SO PETTY AND TINY (Human AU)
Loki, the estranged son of the Borson family, moved to America at the age of 19 to pursue his passion (this might be professional cooking, ballet, or theatre depending on the thread).
In his younger years, Loki was always a bit of an outcast and became a loner as he grew older. No-one other than his mother, Frigga, seemed to have any interest in his passion, as his father insisted that both of his sons be educated and prepared to lead the family’s business.
After Thor was named Odin’s successor in running the company, discovering that he was adopted was the last straw for Loki.
Now at the age of 26, Loki is working harder than ever, determined to become one of the best, no matter what it takes.

▍   IN THE HEARTS OF MEN (BBC Merlin AU)
Loki was born with an innate talent for magic and was educated in it from a young age by his mother. Loki progressed quickly and by the age of 17 was a very able sorcerer. Discovering he was adopted caused a little tension in the family, but Loki eventually came to terms with the truth. When he reached the age of 19, Frigga was arrested on charges of sorcery and executed. Filled with rage, Loki left his home in one of Camelot’s outlying villages and made his way to Camelot itself. He’s determined to have his revenge on the Pendragons for the fate of his mother, and will stop at nothing until he gets it. (Alternative Merlin AU’s include but are not limited to Loki as a member of the royal family of a nearby kingdom.)

▍   VILLAINS DON'T GET HAPPY ENDINGS (Storybrooke AU)
Loki found his way into the Enchanted Forest through the ways between the realms some months before the curse was cast, and kept visiting in order to explore and see what the new realm might offer him. When the curse was cast he was brought over with it, and lived as the human Ian Walker, a journalist, for 28 years. After the curse was broken, he stayed trapped in Storybrooke due to reason after reason that the citizens were unable to leave, and spends much of his time as a loner, trying to find a way to escape both Storybrooke and Midgard.
